Little Theatre’s Two for national Drama Final

This is the Little Theatre’s very first appearance in the All-Ireland One Act Finals, and how fitting it is that this historic event occurs at the end of the theatre’s 75th anniversary year.

RTÉ All Ireland Drama Festival officially launched

The 2011 RTÉ All Ireland Drama Festival was officially launched at the Abbey Theatre on Wednesday night at a glittering reception attended by Minister for Arts, Heritage and Gaeltacht Affairs, Jimmy Deenihan. Guests also included Judge Bryan McMahon, chairman of the Board of the Abbey Theatre and RTÉ director general Noel Curran, as well as representatives from the participating groups, the festival’s organising committee, and other drama personalities. The event renews links with the National Theatre which go back to the early days of the festival when many Abbey notables adjudicated at or officially opened the festival.

Drama festival line-up announced

The programme for the 2011 RTÉ All Ireland Drama Festival was announced recently. Plays offered by the nine finalists will take place from Friday April 29 to Saturday May 7.

Drama festival opens in Athlone tonight

As the biggest theatrical event in the Midlands gets underway this week, the organising committee is putting the final touches to the 2010 RTÉ All Ireland Drama Festival which takes place at the Dean Crowe Theatre, Athlone from tonight, Friday 30 April to Saturday May 8 nightly at 8pm (except final night which begins at 7pm).
